Q:So....just out of curiosity (and because I'm more than a little weird and cant get over it), how come you never capitalize the first couple of sentences of any of your posts?

um… well, i was writing a term paper about socioeconomic disparities between “developed” and “developing” countries and how the fundamentals of capitalism contributed to… yadda yadda yadda. as i was typing the title page i made an error and left a word uncapitalized. for the rules regarding capitalization follow the link… rules of capitalization.

its then i realized that all these rules were based upon a grammatical hierarchy of bullshit. so, to illustrate a part of my argument i took out all the capitals in my paper and handed it in without the alphabetical social stratification. the professor didn’t appreciate my… creative approach.

he marked every missed capitalization wrong and damned my term paper. noting that it ignored the clearly stated expectation of a professionally written paper as stated in the syllabus. which represented a clear bias for the chicago manual of style and oppressed other legitimate styles. i argued to no avail. erm… anyway, i started skipping capitalizing anything and it became a hallmark of my personal correspondences.

i post excerpts from the articles i link to, i usually retype the title to avoid the giant bold fonts. as i retype them i don’t bother capitalizing them. so there it is, i’m against capitalism.
